Building Websites That Work
Even though there are plenty of ways to build a website, the end product only has to satisfy 3 people.
But even this can be narrowed down to one person - your customer. They are the person you and the search engines are trying to impress.
After an initial meeting to get to understand your business, I then take a look at the marketplace, what the competition is doing right and what could be improved, all with the benefit of your expertise as well.
A channel of dialogue is always open from the initial design stage to the finished website, and beyond. I'm here to do the things you can't do, but not to tell you how to run your business.
Standard things that come with my web designs :
A simple and versatile content management system:
This allows you to update your website anytime, anyplace, and not incur any costs for small text changes etc. Though small changes are part of the package anyway, and if you need a lot of regular updates and don't have the time to do them yourself, we can sort out a maintenance package.
User and Search Engine Friendly Design:
These are basically the same thing, but both the coding and the visual aspect of the site will be designed for maximum impact, and ease of use.
Google Friendly Sitemaps:
These are lists of your websites pages which are automatically submitted to Google, to help keep your listings up-to-date.
There are many devices used to view websites such as mobile phones, tablets, iPAD and laptops, and your website has to look good across all of them.
This is an incredible tool for tracking visits to your website, where they come from, how they got there and much more besides, and it's FREE!
Submission to Google and Bing:
A simple account is set up and your sitemaps submitted to Bing and Google to make them aware of your existence.
Google Maps and Places:
Your business will be added to Google Maps and Google Places to help people find you.
Cpanel Access for Emails, Forwarders etc.:
An easy way to manage your emails, add new accounts, out of office messages etc.
This allows you to access your email from anywhere you have an internet connection, without the need for your office PC.
Galleries and Slideshows:
Show off your products and services
Social Media Sharing Buttons:
Allows site visitors to easily share content from your site
Allow users to get in touch with you by email
