Brochure and Information Website
BriefAs one of the finest family owned and run Castles and estates in Scotland, Ballindalloch required a website which promoted all aspects of the castle, the estate, golf course and much more. The site had to be easy to navigate and easy for staff to update, as well as providing as much information as possible to the user.
It was also important to enhance the fact that Ballindalloch Castle is a family run estate, where the Laird is very accessible to the public, and it is also one of the few estates owned and run by a female Laird.
SummaryAfter an initial meeting with the Lady Laird of Ballindalloch, Clare Macpherson-Grant Russell, and her team, I designed several possible interfaces and sent them over for review.
The final design (my first ever pink interface), utilises a colour scheme which spans existing promotional material, and is also the Lady Laird;s favourite colour. After it was agreed upon, I set about building the site, and then placed it on a test address for everyone to look at. From here the Laird herself and her staff put together all of the content required to flesh out the site.
With the content installed on the test site this allowed everyone to form a clearer idea of how they wanted it to work, and we set about refining it until it was ready for launch.
The site features several useful functions including:
- Content Management System
- Easily embedded YouTube videos
- Google Maps for general use and for Fishing locations
- Weather widget for fishing
- Gallery functions for different sections
- Slideshows with different effects
